    Nc lake life.

Key word: LAID BACK. 367 miles of shoreline coves, long stretches of glassy water, minimal other boats. I guess July forth is busier.
I spent from early 70's to the mid 90's living on South Lake in Hollywood FL.
Had many good times and many good memories. Day trips to Eliot key in the Mako.
Establishment hopping in Ft. Lauderdale. Spear fishing anywhere 1/4 to 1/2 mi off shore, spear fishing the wreck Mercedes, trying to get back to the boat before the barracuda's took oir groupers. trolling the weed line in the mornings.
We really did have a lot of fun.
Now a Grampa, I'm ready to get away from the crowds of today and just enjoy 90mph across a glass lake by myself.
Still running super rich and timing backed off 3°, I may see 95mph by the time I'm done. Gotta have something to shoot for.
It's all about getting a little bit at a time.
    I'm still learning...

Budget boat, 6k, 3yrs, and many hrs. Puts a smile on my face just hearing it run, much less Screaming and Flying.

    Happy Screaming and Flying

Close, South end of Kerr Lake. Overall Kerr has over 800mi of shoreline.
The leaves are starting to fall here now, by November it'll be time to play on atv's more. I'm starting another looper engine build, I'll be on the lookout for another hull to rebuild. Mod vee or Tunnel? I want to do it while I'm still healthy, I'm 61 and feel 39.... the 80's weren't good for my body, A little too much fun.
I stil miss the South Florida endless summers. lol

I'm in the process of selling my little place on Gaston (listed in General Boating) and moving over to Kerr when new house is complete. One thing I will miss about Gaston is the 10 miles of river at the upper end that very few people use. Most people think it's too shallow. You can run to mile marker 30 and not be less than 10 feet deep. 31 is pushing it. Can see the Kerr dam from the 31 marker. Know there's river at the upper end of Kerr, but that will be at least 25 mile run to get there. Kerr is pretty big water. 10-15mph breeze makes running a small boat in the main lake not much fun. Kerr has endless sandy beaches to hang out on. Some larger crowds and partying in specific spots. Can always find a quiet place if preferred. Gaston has just a couple very small spots.

I worked in Charlotte and Mooresville for the better part of two years back in 04/5 and gave serious thought to buying on lake Norman and moving permanent. Beautiful area and up til I met my wife I always thought of that dream like the fish that got away.

Thats a gorgeous stream you have and 90 is fantastic fun. Enjoy

Hey Danger, saw your house on the post. Looks great, GLWS! We own a home near Hawtree Creek. I have heard a high strung 2.5 out on the lake a couple of times. We stay on the river end of Gaston during the busy days. We will head towards the dam this time of year. Like you said, Buggs (Kerr) is a beautiful lake and we spend our beach time out there for sure. Maybe we will cross paths one of these days! Enjoy the new home!

Yes sir. I'll miss the river end. The steel bridge ramp is less than 20 mins from my new place so I'm sure I'll come back over to the river area and run my stv now and then.
