Just an update, 12 years later. Robby was right, this one was a keeper.

As of this past Monday, it's been RIDDEN (not trailered), from my home in northern IL to all of the lower 48 states plus the District of Columbia. It has been in many of the states several times. It turned 50,000 miles on the north shore of Lake Tahoe in 2021 and 80,000 miles in Taos, NM in 2024.

Odometer is at 87,451 miles. Zero breakdowns or check engine lights, and only one repair - the right fork seal at 45,000 miles which many would consider normal maintenance. Original clutch, brake rotors, brake hoses, brake calipers.

I bought this bike for the riding position and in the back of my mind I thought maybe I would ride out to the Black Hills or something with it. Never did I intend to wind up riding it everywhere from Puget Sound to Destin Beach.

Photo is at Blue Shutters Beach, Rhode Island 5/19/25.

Congrats on the ride Ron. Sounds like you have made some memories on that thing.

That's for sure, most cycles get very little use, I bought mine in 2011 and only have 40,000 miles, I only drive local, It's never been out of Fl.

The windshield moves seven inches with a touch of a switch, shaft drive, cruise control, Traxxion ZX14 forks with AK-20 cartridges Ohlin shock, 160hp before ZX14 headers on my third and last tune.
