Here is the poster Billy signed for my friend Bo Nilsson at Miami Boat Show 1987.
Same time she signed my brother Lennart's and mine..
I have misplaced mine and pretty sure Lennart's is gone long time ago..(not by him but his wife)..

This is a very interesting picture in many ways..
Its from Leon, Spain early 1982 and the first F1-V8 race for the season.
Far away from everything up in the mountains of Spain.
#9 Roger Jenkins brand new Carlsberg/Burgess raced for the first time.
You can see the boat builder David Burgess next to the brand new boat.
Renato came with his brand new Martini/Molinari - titanium boat and took the lead..after a few laps Renato was heading for the shoreline..the boat was taking on water and he was forced the beach the fancy very expensive race boat..
Roger Jenkins won..and surprised everybody.. A proud David Burgess and Roger invited us for champagne after the race.
    Great memories..!!

As most of you know, Needles, California is where Jimbo and I grew up. It is where we live now……we came “home” after his accident. It is a VERY Old town with lots of History. Each year the Needles Regional Museum produces a Historical Calendar. This 2025 calendar is the 39th year. Every year contains monthly photos from the past. This year has three months that have a connection to Boat Racing. The one old store photo, from 1947, has a Boat Race poster on the left side. Then a 1969 photo of me in the Needles Marathon Powder Puff Race. The third photo shows the Evinrude Motor that was given away in a Bass Derby in the 1952 - 1953 event. Needles has always had a connection to Racing.

1969 JUNEAU, ALASKA to KEY WEST, FLORIDA RECORD RUN

A recent post featured J.E. Hoag’s 1925 crossing of the United States with Evinrude power which was, of course, quite remarkable for that time. But perhaps even more adventuresome was Bill & Kathy Dimond’s 8,338 mile Juneau to Key West journey in 1969 which was the longest run attempted by outboards. As the ad points out, their journey went from arctic-cold fresh water to tropical-warm salt water. It included every kind of boating from rivers, to streams, to lakes, to canals - across the entire country- and down the Atlantic coast. Twin, loop-charged Evinrude Triumph 55’s powered their 20-foot Glastron V-201 for this remarkable adventure. While the outboards were stock, the boat hull was beefed-up for this punishing endurance adventure.

Hi all! I just wanted to introduce myself. Here is a shot that some of the old time OMC racers may remember. I’m the one in the middle.
The only Mercury guy in the shot.
    Anyone know the other four?

Wow Mike, must have been around the time you blew over Sid#1. I obviously see Art Kennedy, maybe Terry Leatherby & Arts friend from St. Louis ?

They took the scenic route, Southern Georgian Bay then inland through the Trent System then out into Lake Ontario again.
