External water hoses on F1 engines

    Guys

I have noticed F1 engines these days put a fitting in the top of the block and run 2 hoses down into each head between 3-5 and 4-6
Is this to try to dump any air out to get a solid water flow around the cylinders ( without dropping pressure) or add a bit of cool water over 5 and 6? ( with air in it or both)

    Thanks

( yes I might be going to dark side in a carby 2.5 steel sleeve on a one piece, tunnel boat)

Just a collection of ex f1 and f2 tunnel boats with large gearbox pretty close to Texas F1 powerheads.

Air in the ex trunk is removed from the highest point before it gets to the cylinders and dumped over the bottom 2 in the head
(probably should be lower down like the adapter plate?)

right... right back into tha system............ 'bout only way air can be purged is thru tha adapter plate...

thats tha reason a hose was added down to tha poppit with tha production motors in '89.. they figured it out when tha water cooled rec/reg was over heating due ta air pockets....... worked well enough ta keep it after tha water cooled stuff went away..........

those two hoses are just for "extra coolin' water" to tha motor....

A manually forced diverted flow. Adds another loop to the hottest parts of the block. Instead of relying on just rubber diverters in the cylinders to surround the cylinders this system pumps in to the center and out the top. The heat will naturally settle in the center of the block anyways so by routing the cooling this way it shoves the heat from the center out. That’s how it looks to me
