Here's my experience. It works well in performance boats. Fishing boats that get a lot of wear and tear not so much. However they've come a long way in the last few years. I put some in the V21 for traction. It bought the stuff on Amazon but it works real well. I also put some on the steps on the on the trailer. I got a quote 4 years ago to do the inside of the V21 and it was $900 in SeaDek.Click image for larger version.

I hate carpet in a boat.

I love my Marine Mat, except for the staining issue, mine has never really stained but to keep clean is a bit of work.

Just refitted my donzi with marine mat. It's a little tricky if you do it yourself. The adhesive is super strong. You gotta hit the mark the first time. The mating service has to be very clean. They suggest acetone or mineral spirts. It has to be clean and dry before you apply it. They suggest you clean. it with simple green, soft scrub or fantastic. The o e thing you don't ant to do its get any petroleum base products on it. It's a good replacement to carpeting.

They have a newer, more expensive material in a smooth surface that reists staining, but is speckled in a nice pattern for grip, that they used to only use for steps on ladders, but on a whole boat it looks immaculate. I'd recommend it to anyone after dealing with it in person. Click image for larger version.
