Mod VP "down under" Johnson V6 RS/SR/CCC..

    Jeremy Thomas

Shark Attack, Roger Seymour, Bullet 1750 TD with CCC, in New Zealand holds the Mod VP record at 106mph for the last 20+years. (I’ve got this hull and putting a CCC back together for it)

    APBA Mod VP update from..

    Bill Mathews

Mod VP is actually becoming active again. Now called the APBA Mod VP vintage class.
Only boats that competed in the IOGP APBA Mod VP series are eligible to participate. This is me at the Leaonardtown Md APBA vintage regatta in 2022 starting the warmup lap.

I always loved these vintage days of racing where boats were sporting two and three engines. Time would eventually show that the added weight of more that one engine, did not really add significantly to the top end speed, but it did give it a lot of acceleration coming out of a tight turn. Nevertheless, they were always on the top of my "cool" list.

Gary Ferguson in his Twister 3 powered by triple Evinrudes. Lars- I am sure you know what model engines these are.

    Looks like Havasu.
    3 X Evinrude X-115.. my guess is 1967 or 68.

    Thanks

"Gary Gabelich drove with Gary Ferguson. Gary was doing well for two hours, then Gabelich took over. Turned it over first lap! He was a drag racer, not a circle racer! I think 1967"

V4 crossflow motor with Algon throttle bodies, McGee crank driven fuel pump and metering system (like Hilborn), 50% step-up gearbox in mid-section and 16" Record steel prop on 1 to 1 lower unit. The 130 mph record run was at 6800 rpm and about 80% throttle so could have been quicker on better water conditions.

There is a video also but not possible to post here.

Merry Christmas from a happy Evinrude UIM F3/OE class driver getting ready to race Paris 6 Hours 1986 with his brother Lennart.
Crew Chief was Olle Magnusson with help from the "Zumba Queen" Carina Strom
