solid state batteries per the SAE

solid-state batteries will “begin to take up market share in luxury segments between 2030 and 2035,” followed by gradual adoption into the mass market."In short, the rise of solid-state batteries will be a transition rather than a sudden switch,”

That is most likely true. So we are looking at approx. 2045 for widespread adoption of EV's to start. But they are still going to require most of the same materials, e.g. cobalt, lithium... So we still have to deal with the mining of these materials and like oil and gas only so much of it to go around.
While we are sitting on massive reserves of lithium, our government has made it off limits for production. Again leaving us at the mercy of other countries for these materials. That is dumb. I wonder if they have done this to keep Americans in the dark about strip mining of lithium and the hazards of lithium mines.
FYI, Afghanistan is sitting on massive reserves of lithium too. So now the Taliban can become a power in the world market of energy. No Bueno

They better still get busy on the needed power plants.
IIRC it takes around 10 years from planning to operation for a power plant in the USA.

Dave you are so wrong, I understand where you live, but you can't look at a group of cars in my town without a Tesla in view,

The Tesla Model Y is the best-selling car in the World,
    "

"McDermitt Caldera, straddling the border of Oregon and Nevada, may hold 20 to 40 million metric tons of extractable lithium, which would make it the largest known lithium deposit in the world. The caldera was the site of a massive volcanic eruption roughly 16 million years ago, which spewed lithium-rich magma.Sep 14, 2023"

Dave lithium is Very common, Cobalt will not be used in future batteries,

There is not one type of new Solid State battery coming out,

But many different variations, the whole F'N world has been spending much money and time on the next new thing because

It will make the electrification of the world much easier and crazy money to be made.

You see Solar IS the answer, but we need much more storage and low prices, things will speed up in the next few years

Being able to scale up production is the next BIG hurdle, you can't call and order machines, you have to design, trial and error, not

simple. Elon Musk who has designed more Chit than anyone once said, Engineering the product is the easy part, Production, is Hell.
We have invented the world; WE see

Planning to "breach" 4 hydroelectric dams out west (OR or WA?) to make people even more dependent on sketchy "green" power... and throwing in a $ billion to restock fish. A ****ing billion dollars!

Is this Joe's deal or Hunter's? The indian tribes are used to rebating money to get what they want passed or approved. Many millionaires are made pretty much every time a new casino is approved and built "I have numerous contacts in Northern Michigan who have done very well helping casinos get developed". I can only imagine what comes back when you start talking about a B.

They've been trying to breach the dams on the Columbia for a while now. Way before the current Clown got in office. This region is also renowned for very high wind, and is littered with wind turbines. They run alot of giant barges from lewiston Idaho to the Pacific. Probably hauling alot of our grain, coal, and timber to China.
Idaho already has the largest salmon/steelhead hatchery in the world. If they wanted to save them they should get the Natives gill nets out of the river.
