Dammit, Lars you got something against Fujimo lol all the cameras and films are out of business. Hell you don’t see any beer commercials on boats anymore or cigarette commercials. The good old days are gone Mr. Seebold got old. Yeah they’re still Formula One but all we can do is watch it’s a whole young generation, I think we’re about two generations away from, what we used to be by the way great pictures you’re still second to Fujimo but please take that as a compliment. Best always Amberjack.

I have to agree with water. Zebra are used to take my prince to Walgreens to get them developed in 24 hours before that the local Kodak store took three days now you’ve got your memories in your phone vastly better pictures as he says the only thing is I just have to figure out how to retrieve them, that smart phone is smarter than me best always a Amberjack

but..like OMC..also out of business today..!!

Was the intent of using camelback cowlings a myth or a fact of just plain styling? Supposedly camelbacks helped with lateral crabbing in strong cross winds? I noticed that all curent F1 hulls don't use camelbacks anymore?

The trend started 1975..in the UIM ON & OZ class..Molinari built them also. Kind of ugly in my opinion and the trend did not last long..

I don’t know about the Camelback theory whether it was effective and across wind or not. I’m not an expert on wind tunnel flow as I never had an expensive one time to play with different designs. All of the changes in my boats for trial and error and testing. I think anything above the actual deck of the boat that smooths out the airflow and gives a little downward pressure to counteract lift. As speed increases, is a positive thing in design nowadays you can get a program and a 3-D modeling on computer and experiment and change stuff without ever having to test. It’s a whole New World.

As I stated over on another post, I was able to attend the OSF meeting this year. Been wanting to for couple of years, but scheduling with the federal rallies would not let it happen since I needed some service work on a propeller I was able to work it out. Funny thing déjà vu when I pulled up to Wilson and Custom Marine I knew I had them there before, but damned if I could remember why when or what for. I had to call my friend, Tom Chandler, who drove boy GN boats and he said you dumb ass do used to take propellers up there to get worked on. It’s amazing how much do you think you remember and you really forgot. I’m just thankful that I was able to get to one of these get together’s thank you, Jackie.

Even David Burgess tried camelback with a few UIM OE class boats 1976..did not help at all and the camelback design was gone.
    Roger Jenkins..(same boat..different colors)
