Electric Boat Fire?
No, it started in the storage structure.
Ummmmhhhhhh, OK, of course I believe you.
https://www.tradeonlytoday.com/indus...ource=hs_emailI'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

"CRAP battery's built by CRAPpy foreign labor" ... but hey, they are going to the United States, where idiots will defend these CRAPpy products that are endorsed by CRAPpy politicians should be the real title of the short story buried on page 13 of the news by CRAPpy reporters ...

They lie sooooo easily about this CRAP. Anyone can see what CRAP started the fire. The charger prolly CRAPped out and went up in flames. Just admit the system is CRAP and be honest. sheesh.....what a load of CRAPola.

the lighter the load, the bettr electric stuff works. cars spend most of their time at 10% power. even going the speed limit on the highway. boats are always at 50 to 75% power. makes a batt very warm to discharge that fast. unless you are sneaking up on a bonefish or a muskie at 1.5 mph, electric boats are a baaaad idea.

100% true, but It's not just cheap foreign manufacture. It's battery power in general. Even a single cell that is slightly off spec, can go into thermal runaway and start a white-hot lithium fire. The trick is to build them to exact spec AND to have a very sophisticated and expensive cell management strategy, and heavy sophisticated isolation systems to protect against spread, in case the inevitable happens. It is very hard, very expensive, and very heavy to do right, and even if they were built in the USA or Europe, and cost ten times more than they already do, there would still be "incidents". Because if you pack lithium tight enough to have any use at all, it gets closer and closer to being a fire bomb, and requires every heavier and more expensive safety measures.

These are all valid points about batteries. But let us not forget our cell phones and cordless power tools use lithium batteries. I do not lay awake at night worrying if my phone will combust. And I will venture to say they are made in China. Gasoline storage can also be dangerous. The reality is that internal combustion vehicles as a percentage are three times more likely to catch fire than electric cars. Go ahead and Google it. I have personally witnessed a number of gasoline car fires and boats that caught fire. It happens. In the rare instance an EV catches fire they are hard to extinguish and tend to make the news as the technology is new and people are fascinated with anything that can justify why they should not own one.

Did boogle also tell you that there are @ least a million gas powered cars for every POS EV .. think that fact might skew the numbers slightly ...

If you can find a way to charge your cell phone to 100% in two minutes, or watch 10 YT videos @ the same time .. you might be stressing the battery as if it was in a car or boat ..
A guy I worked for on his Pro/Mod car .. lost the car, golf cart, stacker trailer because the POS batterys caught on fire while going down the road. He would have lost his toterhome, but he saw the smoke billowing out of the trailer, stopped and unhooked .. just in time.
Standing up for garbage that is helping to Mame and kill people while destroy our economy over a problem that doesn't exist .. is nothing less than I would expect from a ... well, you know ..
Hundred's of pictures to choose from ....
