Al please give us a little back ground

Looks like your mounted right on the transom ? best for this type of race

I was suprised to see a high rooster tail, engine height? 5 Blade prop?

You always look planted, I would think you could pick up a bit on top end by raising the motor and moving it backwards?

This boat and motor seam like such a good match, handling a 700 lb motor with ease.

Cuda. We had props that ran faster with little to no rooster tail but they were too hard to keep below the 110.9 break out speed so ran a different prop that did have a rooster tail especially while accelerating. Once leveled off at speed rooster would drop to a bit below engine height. Never liked running much set back as boat has some in the bottom so engine mounted to a 3/4 plate. Closer to transom may give up some off the corner but certainly helps in dirty water due to better suited CG. Prop shaft was actually a tad bit negative at speed, boat could be run freer but minimal speed gain. Had everything we could moved forward to help with balance. At start of race only had 5 hours and 7 minutes on it and had not been held WOT for more than a half mile due to break in. We tried several different styles of props, different blades, rakes, hubs etc.

Oh my the Master has spoke

You have always been different... in a good way, I remember the early to mid 80's, It always looked like you were taking the outside lane in MVP racing, I know in the old crossflow days the Merc's had the acceleration advantage,( superior design lloop charged ) the OMC's the cubic inch which I believe gave them straight-a-way / top end edge, so I assumed you drove around the perimeter to keep the rev's up? VS getting close the inital turn buoy, I always wondered your reasoning?
    Is Foster still racing?

Your boats have always looked stable, this time the same,

Let's say you wanted to set that boat up for top speed run period, what is realistic top end #s ?

By the way Thank You so much for responding, you are true royalty in the outboard racing world,

So sad It's Heyday was such a short period time, I looked at the MVP class, like the car stock car racing of old, modifing regular everyday vehicles for circle racing.

    Thank You

Fun yes I did as Foster is fighting cancer so was not able to drive this year but will be back next go round.

Cuda don't know. Every prop we have tried would reach the limiter and we were more interested in being able to maintain close to the 110 limit. Thanks for the kind words, I have been lucky to be in good equipment with a great support group.

We hope you and your longtime friend Greg will be at next year's race to regain the outboard dominance against the Nordic.
