The boat cowling looks like a Scotti Craft.

I talked with Bob and his wife for quite some time last year at the Havasu reunion. Yes it was a Scotti - one of the few pickle-fork Scottis. Bob was very humble about his racing success in the 70's. His wife was really great to talk with, she knew virtually every boat Bob had over the many years he raced. It was a real 'walk down memory lane' talking with both Bob Larson and Bob Holloway - both great California racers of that era.

As far as I know all his race boats was built in his shop in Holland.
When he switched from wood to composite boats same thing..but later after he retired Ben Roberson purchased the molds for the Velden Racing composite boats.
I have seen them in Bens shop, Jacksonboro, South Carolina.
Cees was a business man and I am sure he did some side business.

Cees left us long time ago.

Is there a reason why Ben Robertson has not built any more boats from the Velden molds? Money? Interest? Buyers? Wrong size?

Interesting question Mr. water zebra I don’t know if the boats would be competitive in formula to your formula one anymore against the Hoffmann composites that are built But surely there is a market for that maybe. Ben Robinson was a very competitive driver when he was running and I believe they had a shop called Dorchester Marine outside of Charleston South Carolina. Maybe somebody can contact him I’m sure there would be some sort of market out there for the boats. Maybe the younger guys But not from us old farts
