    Exclamation NGK BUZHW Spark plug

Hello everyone and pardon if someone else has asked this question. I could not find under the advance search.

Now that NGK has discontinued the BUHZW / 2147, what is the alternative plug people are using. I have early 90's 260 EFI offshore Mercurys.

After some intensive research, the best I could come up with is the Champion 898 QL76V.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Anything wrong with NGK BR9HS? Personally, I have never owned any motor other than a Briggs & Stratton that liked a champion spark plug.

    EDIT
Run BR9HS gapped to .035 or get the BR9HS-10 that are gapped to .040

Is there any noticeable difference in performance on .035 vs .040?

Not that I can tell. I am sure if someone had telematics and all that they could see a difference, but I cannot. The BR9HS plugs are less than .035 so they need to be gapped to .035 or .040.
