    1981 mercury 225 bleed lines

Does anyone have good pictures or a better drawing of bleed line routing on a 1981 mercry 225 than the mercury manual. Thanks in advance.

FYI, I have my 1985 2.4L engine disassembled (original, no apparent previous disassembly). My bypass routing is slightly different. There is not a fitting on cylinder #3, only 1, 5, 2, 4,& 6. There is also not a fitting for a bypass hose between upper and lower bearings. Inspection of the front block half reveals lube holes in the bearing surfaces leading to a channel on the Reed side of the reed block. I have mapped the hose routing on my engine which does not perfectly match any manual I can find (see diagram). This is a vertical reed engine. Provided in case someone is looking at a similar engine. Click image for larger version.

    G'day Bill

That looks like a vertical reed setup like on my 2.0l (the one with two tired cylinders). And thus it looks like a 5-line bleed setup too. Also like the one on my 2.0l.

(For some reason, I thought all 2.4's were horizontal reed setups.)

tha 175's till late '89/'90 (sometime along then best i remember) were vertical reed 2.4 chrome bore (200 block half) motors............... thats why most of those 175's would usually run with tha 200's pretty easily.............

To be exact, my block is dated December 84 and is an 84 motor per Mercury. The boat is an 85 which I just use 85 overall when talking about it in general.
