What was the difference between the AquaROD and AquaRACER?

AquaRod is 16ft long with 30" tunnel. AquaRacer is 17ft-8" long with 44" tunnel.

I saw a couple of those raced in SJ class. They were not very competitive. I don't recall who ran them however.

Kinda big for SJ back in the day. The ROD might have done better but the RACER is too big.

The funny thing……. I never wore these in the Pits or anywhere around the Races. In fact, they may not have ever been worn.

We all know about the first and only Evinrude-Johnson F1-V8 3.5 Liter 2 stroke looper engine from OMC. This powerful, (still fastest in the world) race engine was used all over the world from early 1981 to late 1989.
What we don't know are all the drivers around the world who had the honor to race this beauty.
I am starting with the first five in Brodenbach, Germany in June 1981. (First ever F1-V8 race)

Homer Greene! I never knew he ran in F1. When I first met Homer he was running a Raveau with a 40hp Mercury. One of the "good guys".

Entry list Three Rivers Regatta 1983. Lots of boats and sponsors.
Back then I used my nickname Lasse..The two pictures are the #8 Aspen/Burgess in Pittsburgh 1983.

I have not seen my dad Roland (picture) in three years. Travel restrictions etc to Sweden..but in two weeks we are landing in Stockholm and my first stop is to see my dad..

I'm late to the game finding this FaceBook page, love ALL the memories. I'll add this pic of my Dad since it's Father's Day. He's known as a Merc man I'd say, but his last full seasons racing were in this Broughton/OMC rig. I believe this was taken at the Jacksonville Outboard Club course, '79? Great Page, looking forward to adding some more pics down the road.
