Yes, that is Jimbo driving. A good eye, Lars. He only used the full face Simpson helmet for just a few races during one year. He did not like full face helmets. He took that Boat through the Kilos one way at 115 mph and Set the record at 112.72 in Oct. 1980 in Waco, Texas.

Happy Birthday to probably the best tunnel boat racer ever..and for sure the best spokes person for the sport.
The picture of Mr. Bill and me is from a fishing tournament at Lake Truman 2009.
Always a fun time with the Seebold family.

I guess this is a way to know Mr. Bills how many years..!!

Yesterday was a Big Day for Mr. Bill. Today is a Big Day for Mr. Lars. Today you have achieved a notable milestone. What is it you ask?...Today, not only does your thread continues to be the most read thread on Scream and Fly, but as of early this morning, you have A Quarter Million more views than the nearest thread and that thread has been on Scream and Fly for a year and a half longer than your thread. What makes your thread stand out is that you not only post historic power boat racing pictures, you post the who, what, when and where. Seeing your pictures with the date, the location, the driver's name, the hull brand and the engine type makes a big difference. Congratulations and Thank You for giving us a reason to click on Scream and Fly...

    Yep.

To me, the stories that are when Lars was there, changes everything for me.

This is posted by Sture on the FB page. Sture is a Swedish boat builder and we won the Paris 6 hours together 1980. Driving a UIM OE class boat he built for me.

    Sture Sjöberg

Today I cleaned behind a workbench, then this gem appeared!
It sat on the wall in our old workshop for many years.
The bench was moved here to our new workshop in 1992 and since then the picture has been rolled up behind the bench's tool board.
Now I will restore the picture and get it up on the wall again.

    Thanks @Bob V

Some fun memories from Stockholm F1-V8 GP 1984..

First a new picture of my #8 Burgess/Evinrude..You can clearly see my Evinrude business Lasse Ström Marin - Number 1 Evinrude dealer in Sweden on the side of the boat.

I got lots of media attention at the race and that upset Rolf Magnusson.. He owned the Evinrude dealership "Södermalms Marinservice AB" ..also in Stockholm.
We was/where in a big price-war selling Evinrude in Sweden.
Rolf came down to the Stockholm GP pit..Offered #11 Bob Spalding $1,000.00 to put his outboard dealership "Södermalms Marinservice AB" on the side of his Molinari.
They made a deal...but Bob broke down in the first heat and his race was over..
I remember Rolf saying..Sh*t..$1,000.00 for one lap..!!
My respond..you put your money on the wrong horse..!!..

Thanks Pasi for another "new" never seen before picture.
This is from Stockholm GP 1983.
It could be the same boat as the poster above. but I dont think so. Burgess built Roger a few boats 1982 & 1983.
    Very similar boats.
One thing is for sure..this boat was shipped to USA after Stockholm and was completely destroyed in Minneapolis a few weeks later.
Roger did a WOT flip in Minneapolis

Funny..Roger Jenkins and I had a "love - hate relationship"..started in Finland 1973 when I won my first big race..Roger refused to let me use some of "his" propellers owned by OMC..
We competed in the SE/OE class for many years..he won some races and I won some..
Roger was a very colorful person/racer and could handle English way better than me..
After we both stopped racing I spent a weekend in Wales at his home..
Great weekend with a lots of fun..
Later Roger moved to Spain and we lost contact..
FaceBook got us connected again some 10 years ago.
    We lost Roger last year..R.I.P.
Here is a FB post he did 2011....(its about Ron Hill)..sorry Ron..
    I have a few more..

Yeah...........I get it. Only thing I got free from Mercury was a voltage regulator. Loaned some racing radio set ups to a guy in FL (IOGP) so he could meet equipment requirement to race. Never saw the stuff again. Changed my policy on "loaning" stuff to insist on a CASH deposit for just about anything. I'm sure that Bill Seebold had a chance to drive a V8 at some lake located inside area 51 (UFO site) LOL. Probably didn't happen when he was under contract with Mercury that's for sure. Mercury certainly didn't treat him very well after he retired from racing. Saw somewhere on this site where he has a center console boat in FL powered by a Yamaha?

Well...the "incident" 1973 was between me and Roger..
OMC / Jim Wagner was on my side.

    Full story here.

A Swedish success, “propped into racing” by a Norwegian 1973
