...the above mercury public relations department photo of bob in 1968, was of him flying his mercury powered switzer "wing" across the finish line at parker arizona, to be the winning outboard against a field of 104 starters. his speeds were in excess of ninety miles per hour, racing against boats from almost all other states, in the endurance nine hour race on the colorado river. bob owned & operated bellflower marine in bellflower california, which was a mercury outboard dealer. at the time of bob's death, about 1970 or so, while testing a molinari tunnel boat on lake elsinore in california, bob owned/maintained four switzer wing race boats at the same time...
