Natural is not ugly in my opinion, but carbon fiber is black...I'm sure it's what marketing wants.I have done a lot of research, and the laminate folks assure me that adding a heavy pigment to the resin adulterates and weakens it,so I chose to forgo the potential catchy"racing red"and "blazing blue"etc possibilities.
Lots of tests, results, opinions and intertainment.Go to the search bar at the top of the page, inter Carson reeds.
Feelin like a big delicious burger,McDonalds, here I come!

Welp , there's the first major difference . If Chris painted one side of his with "black pigment" any you asked him why ........... I have no doubt he'd tell ya.
Personally I'll take natural over "fake carbon" . Well if they came out with neon pink , dayglow green or candy apple red .. then I might change ..

Forkin .. where's the unbiased dyno sheets ..
I put a million sets of Boy-sends in just about every bike we sold back in the early 70's thru mid 1980's ... that was all that was around then.
Two reeds ... .0195 and .016 = .0355 .. how many .035 reeds do you think all the others make .. ??? I'm going with none .
They growl when the second leaf opens ... ??? Ahhh OK .
I would think as the crank swings past BDC and picks up vacuum as the crank pin approach's 90* ABDC is the only real time the signal is strong. From 90* to TDC the signal begins to weaken. True , the column of air will continue to move even after TDC .
So do you really want a (combined) reed that is .035 thick . If the little guy moves first , when the second comes off the seat won't it tend to close the first one .. to where they are both open a little .. then the air has to be sheared between the reeds and also the block. Doesn't seem very efficient to me.

Chaz = thinkin, you can lead a horse to water ....

you wont know how good they are till you limber it up a lot i mean a lot ,me being a retired motor rebuilder know first hand what they look like after being twisted (up way up for a while) they will most certainly chip off on the edges just my observations, ive used Carson reeds since he began i have them on my Bullets current mota , a very cut up 225 pmax this is why they make Fords and Chevys its your choice
Charlie u just produced info overload

I dont think Carson sold a yellow reed since the turn of the century .. Lots can happen overnight .. let alone two decades ...

And an observed torque reading from 6 to 7000 rpm has a lot to be desired when compared to a modern automated Superflow or DTS cell , that sweeps from 2500 to whenever you tell it to stop ..
But for that day , age , test equipment and short manual sweep .. at that RPM , actually they all ran within a few numbers of each other ..
Tex .. where ya been brother ...
