Adenocarcinoma stage 4, about 5-6 cm in length, nearly closing off the esophagus. CT scans show no masses in the organs, but suspected in the soft tissue throughout my body, specifically the body wall and pelvic area in the fat tissue.. I'm down by 25 pounds now. Still waiting on authorization for the P.E.T. scan, but am scheduled to have the chemo port put in next Thursday and start chemo and radiation on the 7th for 6 weeks.

Sorry to hear hope all works out, was talking to a old client yesterday that has the same problem that started 10 years ago, he told me he still has to go to therapy for his talking and swallowing, said the area could close up and he would have to have a feeding tube other wise.

Prayers for you, my dad past away about 6 weeks ago from esophageal cancer, he fought hard for 3+years, was on a liquid diet for almost 2, drink lots of ensure and boost, the radiation was not that bad for him, he took the chemo pills which we dissolved in water via. The oncologist specs, they were the hardest part for him, towards the last 2 months it got to where he could not get water down, but they did a stint and he could actually get some food down then, they make a lidocauous solution they call magic mouthwash that really helped with the numbing of his throat during eating or drinking, also had him on 7.5 liquid hydrocodone for any pain. I will be keeping you in my prayers, main thing is continue to live your life and love others, make the best out of a bad situation and everything will be ok.
