I owned a 70s hemi Cuda for many years. It could not come close to competing with the cars of today’s technology. It’s nice to look at the old cars but as far as driving them around in my opinion they’re worthless. I don’t know why someone wants to pay all that money for old technology. I understand people need a hobby, go to car shows, find an old beater and restore it, to each his own.

The hemi Cuda was $5000 in 1970. Back in the early 90s I purchased a ZR1 Corvette it was a far superior machine in every way. $60,000.

As a hobby I get it. I sort of do the same thing with my boat, drag motors and 260s modifying.
As a young man I spent enough time bouncing around on the roads with poor gas mileage. Now I just put gas in the vehicle and drive it. I save the poor gas mileage and bouncing around for boating.

The old ones are easier to work on.

Talked to my buddy, he said they didn't start numbers matching until 1969.

Be careful! I would have to hire someone that knew their sh!t before I committed. If it is what it is, I see it as a good investment. Plus once or twice a month going on a 20-30 mile run.

That said, a lot of the older guys are turning loose there stuff, so be patient.
