He uses coosa for a lot of the furniture.... idk. Maybe it was cost related.

I'm trying to find coosa or divinycell but I can't find anyone who has it in stock in the midwest, it's all on the coasts, and shipping a 4x8 sheet is $$$

Wood is good enough for Skater so it's good enough for me. Some 'experts' on the internet think wood is more error proof for inexpert builders

Yep that’s a great build. I used balsa for core only. Everything else is composite and I laid a LOT of glass under and over the core with derakane ve so it should be good. I could squeeze the diviny stuff with ease between my thumb and finger and I mean squeeze. Scared me off. Plus if it gets wet in the core the boats shot anyways

There's nothing wrong with using wood IF you do it right.
    It will last no problem..
I found my 380 Lazer last year(almost bought it back but because of moving couldn't have two) me and my brother did 29 years ago used plywood. It was solid as a rock floor transom all dry I went all over it with a moisture meter because I was really wanting it back..and the guy left it in the water but at least had a good mooring cover.
That boat was so damn light and fast As hell 110 w 2.4 bridge port 32 chopper..guy that had it said he had to get a smaller motor because it scared the hell out of him..lol
And this wasnt even a full job is was beginning of summer and done to last summer go back in and finish.
Work we did was done and done right but was supposed to go back and strip grind it all down get every last oz we could get out of it. It was all reinforced ready to go and beat the living hell out of it all summer I'm mean there should have been a spider crack something..
    Not a thing..

...closed cell foam is closed cell. h-45 or h-60 divinycell{or corecell) can be squeezed with your fingers. denser h-80 & up cannot. choosing the proper density poly vinyl chloride foam for a particular application is not difficult to figure out. if someone can laminate plywood, they can certainly laminate foam core. very simple material to work with. skater also utilizes foam core in every boat they build. if shipping costs scare you on buying plain sheet foam, buy contour foam, it can be rolled up & put in a smaller box for shipping. these are small boats with small amounts of foam needed that we're talking about...

Where are you gonna run this ? It was my first "dream boat", back in the day. Let me know if you're ever up on the Whitefish Chain - It's my main residence.

It will spend a lot of time on Rush Lake in Rush City, my brother has a place there. I may have to drag it up to the Whitefish Chain sometime this summer.

Bro I've been following your build for months, and sent it to a lot of people, posted it a bunch of places. Your range of fabrication skills are killer, and you've done an absolutely amazing job. Way better than the factory ever did, lol.

All it takes is elbow grease....

This thing was sitting on the ground full of water and rotten wood. It was cheap though. "free but had to pick up". All new transom, replaced ALL OF IT from the INSIDE... New stringers, etc, etc.

The bottom was not straight/square. As much as I fought it..... And it got better... 85 mph tops before it starting going APE $hit crazy!

I still have it... and the one before it, a TX20. Google Youngblood boats.
