1983 Mod 50 Ian Boulton, FL

That is a Furnal Flyer designed boat made out of fiberglass by Target Marine in Winer Haven and a 2 cylinder SST 45 motor, thus the SST45 class. Ian raced out if Gary Garbrechts Second Effort with Alan , Gary’s son. Ian might even worked there. Just for giggles & gags, I originally proto typed the 45 in my shop & still have all the original paperwork as first submitted to the Stock Outboard Commission & then to Edgar Rose then VP engineering at OMC.

FUJIMO provided me with a phone number and I called Ian today. It was great catching up with an old friend. He is living as far from South Florida as is possible while staying in the lower 48 states.

Always love to see SE boats.
Lars, once again all (3) hulls look the same.
When I raced SE 'way' back in the late 70's we often had 12 to 15 SE boats and not (2) were alike !! Many were one-offs.

Must be somebody's river rocket or lake toy? Hole shots must be impressive. Only APBA class that I can think of a fit for this set up would be Mod 100 (prior to safety cells)?

UIM SE Class racing in Sweden in the early eighties. Boat builders like Sjoberg, Mollgaard, Clerici, Burgess, Gardin and some more.

I do hope they retain the history of the building. Looks like it. I always remembered that mailbox.
