I bet the 425 sales will go through the floor. Honestly, the V6, V8 and now V12 product lines must really be hurting Yamahas sales.

How much and how heavy? Are they $100,000 a piece? Wrong application but, will a 24/7 boat carry one and would a 28ft cat carry a pair?

Have not heard a weight yet but my guess is over 1000lbs price lets go with 120k

don't think a 24/7 would be to happy with all that weight unless you moved everything to the further front. Fuel, cockpit and so on.

Awesome! Mercury ought to send Helene mellquist a case of Champaign lol. First time I’ve ever seen the competition simply hand total market share over to the competition. Well done Mercury enjoy the monopoly lol

So here is my question, if they can get 600HP from a normally asperated V12, can we get a 300HP NA V6? And then a 400HP NA V8?

    Seems reasonable to me

Mercury hit another home run with this one.....2 Speed Transmission and steerable lower unit. Not for small boats but trickle down technology in the smaller HP in the future. Great timing coming out with this while the only other big hp game in town just left the market. Smart.

Interesting thought for sure but note that the v12 is larger displacement/cyl than the v6/8. It would need to be a 3.8 liter 6 or 5.1 liter 8 at the same specific hp.

Straight apples to apples, yes. It seems to me like the V-12 is tuned to be silky smooth and quiet. If we go ahead with allowing more noise and add some aggressing cam timing 3.4 liter is just a bit less than 3.8
