KAMINC was formed to sell the drones around 1950 and assumed ownership of the existing Kiekhaefer Mercury Outboard company at the time. It remained the holding company over Merc until the sale to Brunswick and was NOT sold to Brunswick; it was Carl's fallback when he was removed from Brunswick's Mercury Outboard company even thought initially KAMINC had no ongoing products in the early 1970's.

KAMINC may have also been the tool Carl used to take his uncle and cousins off the ownership books of Mercury Outboards.

1955 - before my time. That's the con rod line in the old building - when the South additon was added, con rods moved and this area became flywheels and cast iron - dirty cast iron dust everywhere. During the strike in '76 for a few days I was back spotfacing mounting holes on MCM V8 exhaust manifolds - dry. Would come out looking like litle black Sambo. When they brought the field guys in to work, guess what jobs we put them on - I think I went over to the nice oily gear line. Anyone want to hear my story about building a magnetic nail picker-upper for the driveways when the union guys started throwing roofing nails?
