Why do political questions/complaints keep showing up in the “General boating” section?

instead of pissing and moaning about it, post some boating content.

Hula, you have certainly gone above and beyond to add boating content. Like your posts.

Well .. because if they have their way ... there will be no boating. Or inland waters will all be idle zone's. Don't say .. Naaaa , never happen. I'm a native krakka and have seen the "invasion like population growth" from both the Caribbean and the North.
Both have brought and "pushed" their own agenda.
I don't understand it , why would people work all their life to make enough money to "move to paradise" and then the first thing they want to do is change it to be like where they are running from ... ????

Minnow is onto it. The site needs traffic to sell adds. I hate to be another one to say just don’t click it, but that’s the solution. If the politics section is deleted that stuff will just pollute the rest of the site. People can’t help but talk about it. Best to keep the manure in one pile that’s easily avoidable vs spread across the site.

X2, keep the politics in the crappy section of the forum and keep this area clear. Don't go to the crappy section unless you want to feel crappy. Keep the total posts of the forum up so we don't have pop up adds an such or worse no forum at all.

IF everyone that posted in this section posted 1-2 boating related things everyday then this would be a very active site. I posted several times not in politics today. I frequent an old Camaros site. Really good guys and full of great info. It has strict mods and no politics or blue humor at all. You can skip several days and see the same posts that were there last time. It moves that slow. It used to be more relaxed, moved at a pretty good clip them with lots of posts.

Evolve or die, forums in general are much less popular then they once were, I frequent a few car and boat sites, all are much slower than they once were, politics section is likely a big part of keeping at least one of them open, two other sites (one a car and one a boat site) without politics sections are very slow now. The one slower forum forum has regular traffic to a thread in the general section about what you did today... not always about cars, let alone the brand/type specific to the forum, sometimes just nonsense. Pick your poison.

How many of us here are under 40yrs old, how many under 50? I'm nearly 60 and likely typical age of the rest of you if this is anything like the other sites I visit, how much longer are each of us going to be here?

Yes .. that's it. Squash free speech because you might be offended by what you read. I got news for ya .. I'm way more offended by you ******* lefties telling me what I can and can not say or where I can say it.
Just get it over with .. put a chip in your neck and move to China ..

Most of us ... 97% anyway have enough respect for each other and this site , along with enough intelligence to know what goes where ... It might go off the rails at times , when it does .. the thread usually dies under its own weight. You know , don't read the thread or post in it. Block the person if you consistently don't like what they say. Lots more you can do , like make intelligent points or counter points , running to mommy (sorry Greg) is about the least impressive thing you can do ...

Sorry to also tell you but boating is political .. look at this poor guy .. idle forever and then is "allowed" to run 40 mph ... who the **** wants to live like that .. ehh

Greg G said .. what .. really .. Yes brother .. REALLY . And that little *** Blumenthal wants the same for you ...

    https://www.screamandfly.com/showthr...ch-is-too-much

I went to a few "town hall meetings" .. sat in on the commissioners and mayor , and streamed a few court cases . Those hoodlums speed past my house , right up in my yard with those loud boats ... The judge said : sorry lady , your yard stops where the grass ends .. all that water is public domain ...

Then they got smart , their LAWYERS said ... those boats and their owners are speeding and killing the sacred cow .. ( truth is the majority are killed by slow moving barges that crush them against the bottom in the commercial end of the St. Johns )
But they don't let facts interfere with their agenda .. "your a sacred cow killer" you must be stopped !
Once them sign's get stuck on a pole out on the water ... they never say , ya know, that was a bad idea , go take them back down .. nope they just add to em .. take it for what its worth .. and if you do nothing .. runnin to mommy after the fact aint gonna do ****

Damn right, Chaz! Well stated and dead on as usual. I check Scream almost every night. Hit the tech and general sections. Have never gotten offended by anything I read. This is entertainment and a technical resource. If it doesn't apply to me, I just keep on scrolling. If folks are offended on a damn boating website, then grow a pair, grow some more skin, or find another place to digitally hang out.

You want to see what rowdy politics looks like? Put your seatbelt on and Hit the politics section of Boat Freaks. Then you will see that the folks on Scream are quite well mannered.
1990 Shadow bass boat w/ 2.4 200 Merc. Totally resto'd boat and love it!
