You know it's sad when I click on the new posts there are more posts in the "Politics, Related News, Religious" forums than all the other forums that discuss boats put together?

Why can't we stick to boats on a boat forum? Maybe find a political forum to post politics?

I turned from careing to boat racing........1972........when I was not happy about Nixon dumping radioactive waste in the ocean. It was a over load to my heart at the time. From that time I didn't care about politics. Now I know we need to speak out for wrongs that happen. To be silent will lead to worse than where we are now. I can out talk about piston speed excearation, ring flutter, bore to diea. ratios,piston rock,top guide bottom guide differences,plug location and depth,poor man build ups,alternat ways to cut motor hight and weight ....EFI.no.... carbs..... Paint? .....a rattle can....... Boat? what ever floats and don't cost my arm. Tow car ?...... if it has a CD player.......but You that don't want to talk about what is nontalkable........just be silent.......for you may get what you wish.........

Dave, this is a performance boat forum. There are many venues out there to participate in political banter. I find it useless on a forum like this. Not saying it does not have a place but it has really dragged down the site. Let's go back to BS'ing about boats!!

I post in the politics section and wouldn't mind one bit if it were discontinued. But, you do realize that if things keep degrading in our country that there will be no more performance boating? Irregardless, I will go with the majority since that is the way our country works. Make a poll thread and lets see what comes of it. BTW I post in almost all of the sections and talk boats quite a bit, and have several boats.

The politics section has the most posts by a long shot. Advertising revenue is based on how much action a forum has. If not for the politics section, how much advertising revenue do you think this site would draw? At which point would the ones running the forum just throw up their hands and say forget it, it is not worth the time I spend for the revenue I collect.

I like fast boats as much as anyone here, but face it, it is a dying sport. Anything fossil fuel is being shunned at a rapid pace now. Wait to see what happens depending on which way the election goes. Politics is very important to keeping this sport alive. This is very similar to what is going on in gun forums now, and for the same reason. The results of an election affect that sport the same too.

If you do not want to read what is going on in the political sections, don't go there. I have a few people set to ignore because they are not looking for a conversation, they are just looking to cause trouble. Not my opinion, they have admitted that. As far as contributing in the boat forums, I do my best where I can, when I can. I would rather not give advice compared to giving bad advice, so sometimes I hold back.

Funny but I went to dinner with two old childhood friends last night,

growing up Georges dad was the local head of the Republican party my Uncle was the head of the Democratic party

George has never in his adult life worked a normal job, first he was our city clerk then became county clerk, then 20 some years in the NY state Senate, we have

always been friends and joked back and forth about politics but never any anger what's so ever, when Trump came up he said we all know he is a flawed lets move on, even

he said I voted for him the first time hoping for the best but I could not do it a second time, it's good to see he still has a conscience
