    Saved a Buck.....Cost You A Dollar - Cheap Parts

    Here's exactly why you don't cheap out on parts. Cheap o-rings used in some ETEC injectors. I'm not sure it was even the customer themselves that cheaped out, but someone that was working on the unit. Thats why I always recommend OEM, unless you KNOW the source your getting the parts from is quality.

    Look at the disintegration and swelling on the aftermarket o-rings, they almost fell off the injector when I pulled them apart. Yikes!

    EDIT: Wow, meant to name the thread "Saved a penny....cost you a buck" haha.

    I see the same thing every now and again on 6.0 diesels. The Dorman oil cooler has o-rings that don't agree with engine oil, they swell, break down, and end up polluting the high pressure oil system. It's a mess by the time they stop running....

    Lol, they’ve coined the term wings of glory around our shop. Every time something comes in the shop broken with the Dorman logo on it, they holler out it’s got a wings of glory on it!
