Just an opinion. but that CMC bracket looks so totally out of place on a vintage setup. The motor could have had power trim, that was available then. Just sayin. And a 2 blade bronze elephant ear to complete the package.

Could always color match the bracket and smooth all the sharp edges round.

...kinda "half" to agree with bernie on the setback bracket. looks like a 2 blade stainless BP prop thats in the photo. they were numerously available all over the place in the seventies. they actually ran pretty good on the regular inline powered boats of the day. only issue they had, was they would stretch out your gearcase just enough for the spanner ring to loose its bite, and all yours guts would come out when you let off on the throttle after a wide-open run. the 3-blade BP propellers were good runners on the right boat too, and did'nt have the balance issue.

He built it for go as much as show. Just decided to put it in the wooden boat show last year. He did everything to get max speed out the 1000 (thought a 850 FGS, my bad). I even gave him a 2 blade to try too. Doc Frankemerc built the motors too. Just boys messing with toys!

    A vid from before...
"Two acceleration runs from 45mph to 60mph, with a short tour of Lake Crescent in between. Pause at 47 seconds and see the speedo pegged at 60! Speedo is top large gauge, tach is lower large gauge. 1964 White Mercury 1000 (100HP). 24" small eared chopper at 5450rpm. Mahogany runabout, home made, 15' long.
