    Check out the video at 0.29sec, Looks like George Thompson working on the motor and possibly Ted Jones on the boat. 1958 was the first time I was there. The Hydro was kept in the woodshop which was Verboten to go in. You can clearly see the open stack on the left side of the engine.

    Very true, at 2.25 sec. but I was referring to 0.29 sec of the films beginning. The guy at the back of the boat. Mr K. didn't have a thick head of black hair. When I lived in Calif and hung with Skip Talbot Ted was always around. We even went to the National Drags in Perris in 67. Can't see his face too well but it looks like Ted Jones..It's been 53 years, and I could be wrong, but I know it isn't Mr K.

    Was the brand made by Record or was this one of the props used to set the record? I ran Record props on bugger Reds stack cat JJ40. They had a reverse rake..
