haha Bunger that oil injection removal thread is awesome thats when I did mine. Ran from 2005 until then with injection and was worried all the time. no more worries in the 10 yeas since and no more mess filling the darn oil Tank!!

You can get these cool plastic with lids containers that tells you how many gals 40-1 is with how full you fill the bottle. i leave them in the boat and they are easy. I also marked my tank in 5 gal marks so I know how many gals it takes . So if it looks like i can add 15 gals to fill I just put oil in the measuring container to 15 gals worth and when I get fuel dump that in then get 15 gals. Easy as pie. and perfect mix all the time never have to worry about running out of oil.

I use the mixing bottle as well. I fill most of the way, then estimate the final fill amount. Pour the oil into the mixing bottle and dump in the tank. Then I fill almost all the way to the final amount but reserve the last splash for the bottle. I splash a little gas in the bottle and swirl it around to pick up le last of the oil. Dump that in the tank and you’re done! The oil is thoroughly mixed in the tank and in the proper ratio!

Its basically just one screw for that giving you more fuel because tighter heads need to feed more to take advantage of the higher compression. I like the 7500 rpm limiter it allows you to run smaller props and still reach the top end the slower out of the hole higher pitch props did. As long as your mixing premix 40-1 you will have no problems turning that motor to 7200 or 7300 rpm on occasion. i know guy that turn them in stock form to 8000 and live. But 7200 is no big deal with premix. You get to drop basically 2 pitches and still run decent top end.

I like the the sound of that. Definitely gonna get one from tony with somemof this overtime money. Damn works ruining the first part of boating season 😑

It’s worth more if the oil injection and the black boxes haven’t killed it...

For sure gonna ditch the oil injection and all the modules. Sill on the fence about the acu. Don’t really have a lot of expierince tuning motors and it sounds like these things require quite a bit of tweaking to get right from what I’ve been reading.

also on timing the thing after I remove all these boxes and stuff, do I NEED the dial indicator to set tdc? Sounds like a hell of a process and sounds really easy to screw up and pop the motor?

    Reliable promax

WHY turn 7200-8000 and expect anything but problems. factory porting reaches its max power and rated rpm. your not making any more h. p. just beating the engine till you find the weak link. purpose of limiter. professional competition thats different. if i owned a ehxpensive pm i would run it like it was designed, theirs always someone faster. ide guess the average age s&f member is about 35-40? hope my speech isnt falling on deaf ears! you know my thoughts about the oil inj debate. my 1 premix motor sits on the stand in my shop. some members post opinions as facts and new members are misinformed or confused. i see that more and more. its nice to be nice! Nah, He's just a grumpy old prod.
Replaced many many powerheads due to that plastic gear.
Tony's ecus are nice if you have the loot.
Never had an issue one with the injector cleaning side of Tony's business.

Like the old saying goes, if you put three people in a room , two of them won't like the other one.

How does everyone ground out the other 5 plug wires when theresetting timing? Thinking about gettin one of those bitchin cdi spark testers but for 79$ seems a little rediculous.
