Thread: Finally, 21 Skater Twin
-
05-06-2018, 02:34 PM #91
Maybe a few weeks for a ride, dropped the two lower units off to a friend for rebuilds, definitely had issues and I don't want to play games. Also fixing some trim and steering issues.
I don't know if all the twins were rigged the same, but both batteries are tied together and utilize only one battery switch. So, if you have a charging or electrical issue, you are dead in the water. The last twin boat I had (21 Sonic), I wired the engines totally independent of each other so I always knew I had at least one engine to get me home. I see some wiring in my future. You can tell I like this boat because I look forward to working on her and don't bitch at the costs, yet!!

On mine, each battery/motor is on it's own Perko switch, so it can be run independent, or together.
Where are the batteries located?

Next weekend's project is to rewire so each engine is on their own Perko switch.
Batteries are in the back middle .
Why is Wild Bill retired, expensive boat damage?

Bill always ran one battery, 245's didn't need the extra juice and when he finally put 280's on it, they made their own juice
