Believe it or not I just finished her over the weekend. My son and I did a ton of work over the last six months.
- motors are nasty now
- moved engines back, up & straightened them out on the curved transom
- molded water channels into bottom and added stainless pickups feeding exhaust housing
- went back to original skater factory foot petal setup
- heads up indicators
- all cables, fuel lines, hydraulic lines, etc.. now all black
- new gauges
- all new harnesses
I don't know how she'll run, but she looks sexy
.
Can't try her this weekend, but the following weekend will either put the worlds biggest smile on a man, or kill me

Testing
Well back at it....
Had sponsons redone, so started testing again.
First time out last weekend the engines were 2.5" above very bottom step. She climbed to 115mph (7800), but couldn't go faster because steering became an issue. Engines were to high and it felt like there was zero torque on the steering wheel and it was scary as hell.
Modified jackplates during the week and lowered engines 3/4", to make the points now 1.75" above bottom. Totally a different boat at the new engine heights. She steered perfectly at high speeds with no bad tendencies.
She now runs consistently 118 at 7700 with 20lbs water pressure (32 made into 33 by BBlades).
So, what to do next...
1. She now has 4 hole CLE lowers on her, would Sportmasters be faster on this setup? (Buzzin/Mario your
thoughts)
2. Grind my external pickups totally even with bottom at ramps (Are they acting like parachutes?)
Don't know if I want to play with engine heights because boat feels nice and safe where they are.
… or leave her alone and be happy and satisfied (LOL, only kidding, you know that isn't happening
)
see attachment and link below

(remember when looking at video, the bottom of boat is 11" in front of transom)
Thanks
Frank
