    Ceramic coating exhaust tuner?

I am going to do the rings on my 280 soon.

My guy and I are thinking of cleaning up the exhaust cavity on the block and ceramic coating the tuner. That is all I want to do to it, I think.

Has anyone Ceramic coated the tuner and had any positive results?

Or is it just not worth the effort?

    Thanks

Check out the Chrysler racing thread. The four carb stacker has had ceramic coatings applied to the pistons, chambers, and ex area leading to the stacks. He's happy with it and applied it himself.
Swaintech coatings in NY has lots of info on the website.

Our ODBA engine builder almost always ceramic coats the tuner plate. As for grinding on the 280’s chest.....I’d reconsider. Mercury did a pretty good job on that one, and except for some extreme high rpm racing applications I think you’ll find that you won’t gain much....maybe even lose some. Just my opinion.

Ceramic coat the whole inside port to tuner end. Push the heat out the exhaust not heat soak it into the motor?

I'm sure someone has done it completely, but I don't know where you'd find the info.

Thanks Mach351. I won't touch the exhaust chest then. Was hesitant from the beginning. Ceramic coating will get done.

Randy gave you good advice. The 280 chest is really good from Mercury. I vote yes on the ceramic coating

Blahaha, just got a silly visual of a guy wiping out a whole aisle in the grocery store, every time I hear Pam I remember seeing that happen, never mind.
