Jay Smith has good 8.5 wires for half the price. Just not blue, they are black with gold writing and grey boots. Good quality for a good price. I can send you pics in morning if want.

Mercury is molesting people! $110 for 6 short wires is nuts! Surely some has ordered a high quality set of build your own wires for way less. Jay is the man, I would order his or build my own.

Those blue wires are made by NGK, being a steel core wire rare to fail. What does fail is the metal terminal that makes contact with the plug terminal. over time they wear and loose there tension where they connect to the plug terminal. The soft thread on plug terminals seem to accelerate the wear, solid steel plug terminals seem to help.

Solid core you can cut and redo in a pinch if the core is healthy throughout and long enough.
