We got the Coosa transom in today. We originally put 3 layers of glass on the original surface of the inside transom. Today we put 2 layers of 2 ounce and 3 layers of 1.5 ounce in alternating layers. This is about 3/8" thick. While still wet, we coated the Coosa with resin and put it against the wet glass. We made these monster C-clamps (about 35 lbs each) and clamped the Coosa to press HARD into the glass. We also drilled 3/8" weep holes in the Coosa every 6" so the resin could squeeze out. The white plastic outside of the Coosa is just so the weeping resin does not adhere to the wood boards.

My dentist has a set of clamps like that! So far, he hasn't had to use them on me though.

Been real busy working on this 21 and my new 25. Here's some new pics. I got the dash all layed out. I also did the finish blocking on the transom and re-primed it. No more seam!

We got all the knees glassed in. Added two more side bulkheads for support and reglassed the front bulkhead and around the entire boat to make everything stronger where the deck meets the hull. The dash has been cut for the guages etc. This week I'll start on the paint job.

All sanded and ready for paint! I will paint the whole boat white tomorrow. After that, I can start the colors. I always pre-drill all the holes so that the new paint seals the edges. I also weighed the boat again after all the new bulkheads, transom, and stronger reinforcements. Now weighs 1028 lbs. It picked up 90 lbs in glass work.

Been taping all day till 7:00pm. I still have at least another day of taping. I got alot of the front done. The white that is between the yellow tape will be yellow. Then ther will be a black area around it with silver marble between the yellow and black. All this taping is just for the yellow color.

So the white showing will be yellow? The yellow tape showing will be a combo of black and marble?
