Well..the Briggs family did have many connections with Evinrude started back in the thirties and maybe earlier. (Briggs & Stratton)
I remember the two Briggs brothers racing in Paris together in the ON Class boat #30.
Later one of the brothers (Tim) died in an accident. (not a boat racing accident, a car accident)
I believe the Briggs family got out of OMC as a major owner in the late seventies.
I also remember the father was married to a daughter of the McCulloch family. The bigger income for the Briggs family was making all the keys for GM cars.
Picture of the Briggs ON boat in Paris 1974..I am on the inside in the first picture. The second is after the race..

I know for sure the first SE Class Molinari picture is from Auronzo, Italy. Not sure about the second picture but probably Italy also.

Today I drove by this place in the industrial park next to the airport in Fort Pierce, Saint Lucie County.
It's going to be interesting to see if I get an reaction from one of the daily writers here at S&F..

Well..Jackie Wilson of UK was as always in a great mood telling stories we never heard before..!!..
His son Mark is little more soft spoken than dad and I really enjoy hearing Marks side of his bad F1-V8 accident in Casale, Italy 1983..
I was there racing but did not know exactly what happen that early Sunday morning.
Everywhere I go Bert Serra is there. Thanks Bert for putting up with us.
After four hours it was time for my wife Carina and I to leave..but John and Bert
was still in the bar talking about Merc in line six horse power..Schubert was pretty sure an Evinrude V-4 Super Strangler had more dyno horses..
Thanks again for accepting this lost Swede in to the old boys boat racing history
I was close to write old outboard racing history..but “inboard Jackie Wilson”
maybe feel a little bit on the outside if I do….!!
John Schubert in his #44 Scotti/Evinrude V4 Super Strangler 1632cc finished third in Parker 1973. His co-pilot was no other then Bill Muncey..

I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

As always, way cool stuff lars.
I was a huge fan of the Mod 50 class but never lucky enough to see a race.
PS, I heard the same in re to V-4 to in-lines on the dyno.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.
