    Liege 6 hours 1970.
Bob Spalding/Tom Percival the overall winner in a Molinari/Johnson Stinger V4
This is interesting because the top three ON boats was using OMC V-4 power.

After OMC's big win in Paris 6 Hours and Liege 6 Hours 1970..the next big race was Berlin 6 Hours and Jimbo McConnell/Ron Hill drove the #22 Molinari /Evinrude Starflite V4 SS to victory in Berlin.
I don't think you can have a better result..!!..

Pretty cool pictures of Alf Bullen and his #6 ON class Evinrude 2 liter V6 SuperStrangler. Not sure if its a cross-flow or looper but my guess is a cross-flow.

Yes you are right on the Evinrude side powerabout, but the picture is from 1975 and Cees van der Velden used a looper V6 Johnson 2 liter that year in Cardiff.
I just want to be careful so I don't write wrong info. 99.9% sure Alf's V6 is a cross-flow powerhead installed on the older style longer shaft V4 mid section.

I have seen people argue over what OMC engines was named Evinrude Strangler & Super Strangler and Johnson Stinger & Stinger GP.
Here is the way I remember it.
In the beginning (around 1970) OMC named the racing V4 Evinrude Starflite SS & Johnson Stinger.
Next V4 was Evinrude Strangler/Super Strangler and Johnson Stinger GP.
When OMC introduced the V6 1973/74 they did not have a special name for the early V6. Still Evinrude V6 Super Strangler and Johnson V6 Stinger GP.
I know there was special OMC code name but not on the cowlings.
1976 OMC named the new design OZ class racing V6 Evinrude CCC and Johnson RS.
So Yes there was Evinrude V6 Super Strangler/Johnson V6 Stinger GP
Here is pictures to prove my point:
Cesare Scotti in his Scotti/Evinrude V6 Super Strangler 1974. You can see the Super Strangler name at the rear of the engine cowling.
Cees van der Velden and his Johnson V6 Stinger GP 1975 and the technician Jan at OMC Belgium next to a Johnson V6 Stinger GP 1974 or 75.

I think you are right the cowling or decals were different for reach engine type.
Although they all would of had project numbers I guess?
Some didnt get model numbers and I guess they were the ones never sold, like 2.0 xflow and 2.0/3.0 loopers?
I have no idea about the names?

HeeHee..I think it was pretty simple..There was not that many powerheads to deal with but one thing is for sure..There was an Evinrude V6 Super Strangler.
