Take cover when lightning is present-
Imagine if this were to happen somewhere that everyone was hanging out on a weekend or in front of you as you were running down the lake-Crazy.
This video is of DRY Thunderstorm lightning that causes the majority of Forest Fires.
It appears that the video was filmed from a stationary remote camera as a human operator may not have survived this strike.
Notice where the lightning strikes the river bank, then into the river and downstream.
Watch it a couple of times as the lightning comes in from the left bank.

That wasn't lightning. It was a set off charge for dredging. You can see the fuse going off. Pretty cool though!

Yep agreed not lightning. Either dredging or blasting that tree that was on the bottom of the river. It floats for a few seconds after the detonation. Cool video tho.

Yep. You can see the water rushing seeking in, its natural level again. Still impressive!

Yep. That's what it looks like when you're using non-electric det cord. It's basically small plastic tubing filled with a trace of high explosive inside that provides the fuse to light off the detonators in the blast holes. When you're doing blasts on dry land, you can actually see the "timing" of the shot by that "lightning" shooting from line to line, hole to hole. Looks pretty freaky if you're shooting late in the evening. Pretty cool video, though.

I questioned that video when it was sent to me but I didn't know any better. The storm that we were in on our Platka group run got my attention for sure. We are going to try it again in two weeks if Irma doesn't take us out.

Its a monster alright. Just on local news here Wa showed a view of the size of it over Wa and would COVER the whole state!
I kinda had a feeling weather south was gonna change as after 3 years here winter with zero snow, go snow 5 times this winter (nothing to brag about) and really rainy.
But Summer? Been PERFECT! Its been zero RAIN since June 17th and at at 78 days now. SeaTac got 2 100ths inch on the 55 day, but none me. But we sure got the wildfires covered! And plenty in BC too.
