Hi!
I have a original 1985 Phantom 25. Chaudron first versions of their 25 footer was exactly like Phantom. I do not know the background, but Steve Baker ended his business back end of the 90 ties / early 2000. Chaudron 25 first bottom was approx as fast as mine (straight V, no notch) with the same power (300 hp), but their new bottom is considerably faster. A Chaudron 25 PROS runs in excess of 86 mph with a single 300XS. And fit and finish is very good. If I am correct I believe they want approx Euro 24K for one plus VAT.
Personally I think its good that Phantom legacy lives on in Chaudron design. They have made the bottom both faster and better. Unfortunately there are people in Norway advertising "Phantom" for sale, however, these are home made versions with a different upper deck and dubious quality.
I am seriously looking at buying Chaudron new SV27 (27,8 feet) stepped bottom. It has a cabin, and runs approx 90 mph with a single 400R. Very nice done, fantastic fit and finish, and in my view a bargain.
