I ran ran across a 2003 Baja H2X with a racing engine at almost 700 hp. So far, I love it. Sounds amazing, takes waves great on a busy day, will go over 75 if I can ever get some some smooth water, and will hold the family. It was raining and the kids got in the cubby cabin. I'll upload some pics.

Oh, and a good price. Less than $30. Its in great condition. The previous owner was a good dude.

That is my Pulsare 2400 Bowrider with a Mercury Verado 300 Pro. Checkmate, to my knowledge, will still build this upon special request. Their current version of the boat is the walk through BRX model. Same hull, innerlined cockpit, different topdeck. I personally like the bowrider better than the BRX. It's just me and my wife so we're not constantly running to the bow for anything. The cockpit is slightly further aft, there is gunnel storage along the floor of the cockpit, you get a full dash (just like the longdeck model) for all your gages, and the boat is slightly lighter than the BRX. The BRX, however, gives you an innerlined cockpit, more interior space because it's wider between the gunnels, tons of storage under the seats and the ease of walking through the windshield.

learn how to drive one and its fine, and they are smooth and comfortable. The GS more so than the SS2000.

With a conservative set up and knowing how to trim you should not have any hooking issues as long as it's set up correctly.

Most hooking issues come from pushing them too far to the limits.

My XB2003 was still my family's favorite boat I've ever had(same hull as the GS basically but a bass boat).

With the big windshield you are very comfortable even at speed. I've had days cruising back home on the river and someone want to play and ran it up into the mid 90's while the woman messed with the radio and the kid asleep in the back seat.

They are the purest and highest performance of the vee hulls no question. No other vee hull made in the same length can go as fast as some Allisons with a 2.5. But to achieve those top speeds of well over 100mph takes a skill that very few boaters are willing to achieve. Most people just want a boat that they can point and shoot and not be %100 on your game all the time. Theres a risk reward factor with an Allison but it takes years of practice to get to that point. Even some of the most seasoned veteran Allison owners have made the slip up and hooked. No different than a seasoned Tunnel boat racer blowing over after years of seat time into triple digits. If your not trying to ring every last mph out her all the time then the chances of a hook go down to almost nothing. One run you hit 97 then you want to hit 100mph so you {think} you had a few bumps left. Thats how ya hook other than hitting a wake you never saw or mechanical error or human error there alot of variables at those speeds with any boat. But with a boat thats so fine tuned with low HP running over 100mph the chances increase. A GS with a little old 2.5 225 promax at 20ft 3 inches can run over 100 mph. An 20ft XR2002 over 130mph with just a 2.4 Bridgeport. Lots of models over 110 with a 260. if ya keep the speeds just under 100 and you always only do those runs early in the morning or when the lake is clear of wake boats other than mechanical malfunction theirs rarely a problem to cause a hook. Its driver error, conditions and mechanical break downs that cause a hook not the Hull its self. i for one love the fact that not everyone can drive one. Pluss the experience gained from ownership will help you drive any high performance boat there is regardless of size or HP. You learn alot about hydrodynamic lift and aerodynamics and there relationship to each other with Allison ownership. The effects of Center of gravity and mass with ownership. These are thing you just dont have to think about to much with many other smaller race or sport boats. So if this is your idea of a family go fast boat then Allison is for you!! haha Its sorta the same as some find a STV RR with a 300Drag a good family boat but others may not. lol The GS is more a {super} high performance sport family boat than just a sport boat for the family. Big difference. Hook yep blow over not so much though that has also been done. They will also Barrel roll as will any vee hull. Ive hooked and know why I hooked each time. Just as a tunnel boat owner who has blown over many times knows why they blew over. Its all relative and the nature of the sport when you get into that high of performance of boats. Darris at Allison is working on {STILL} a vee hull that doesn't chine walk. Problem hes having is because of this its to darn fast for most people with bigger power. The liability thing always ways on him with some of his hulls that are super fast like the XR2001. Doesn't want to call it a race boat but a family boat. If some one strapped a 300xs or a 400R to the back and started exploring the top speeds with a big wheel and didnt have to worry about chine walk I can see the problem hes facing. Who knows if that boat will ever see production i hope it does but im not holding my breath. One more little thing. You said when some one blows buy you? That is very unlikely. and you dont have to push an Allison to blow buy pretty much anyone unless they are in a STV with a drag,Triad or the like. Ive had 22-23ft 700 hp inboards pull up beside me and floor it any they are in your wake in a split second with only a 225. haha They dont believe it until they see it. Ya just have to stay a little below the limits of the boat and power and its fine,. Its really just the last few mph and trying to better that is when your on the edge. You have to take water temps, humidity and the normal things into account of course. But its really there that the problems can happen more than below that.

I blow by many Allison boats in my euro with a worked 2.5 ,like most all of them!!!! mabe a euro should be in the mix!!!!!!!I also have 21 pulsar w/a 250 sx 10 bobs runs 85/will see 90 soon in a 2 ft chop,,Just sayin when I have my family and my boat make an effort to stay under a safe speed although I'm very competitive and if I'm getting left I tend to stand maybe a boat with better characteristics would be better served as a family boat I love Allison boats spent a lot of time talking with Darris about building me a new boat but I've decided as a family boat it's not for me I run my euro over 110 miles an hour many times with no ill driving issues whatsoever may be a small porpoise to drive through that's about it the checkmate at 85 is hands off I believe at 90 it will be the same you couldn't make the boat hook but it does not ride nearly as high out of the water as the Allison does it does not have as far to fall if it comes off a plane incorrectly which is what causes the hook or a gear case malfunction I just don't think for a new member asking what we think a good family boat would be my first choice would not be in Allison although the more I think about it maybe a euro with a 2.5 would be it's hard to go to these events and not stay with the pack you're either upfront or you are in back riding the wake by a boat that serves the right purpose
