That is one ugly mother of a gearcase, stitched to an Art Deco stern drive ------nothing like the number six. That's a work of art that will go down in marine history ( in my opinion).

I built a SE/SD marathon boat for myself in 1969. I have to admit it was not pretty but it was brutally efficient. Never failed to finish a race and never finished worse than 3rd.

She's cute, but sitting on the wrong side of the boat, along with the tank and that might be the worst engine Mercury never made but put their sticker on.
