    Jaws ran fine:
"no point anymore in putting a v8 on this boat I am looking for options in the bulletproof range"
"When I would get on the throttle the boat would torque severly"
"Chinewalking was SCARRY with that v8 high in the air."
"getting on plane was an issue"
"The boat ran best with the mariner 2.4 as far as handling and holeshot"

Yea sounds like it ran fine...

Just cuz someone wanted some help there had to be negative crap posted from some who had no idea. There are several V8 OMCs on light HydroStreams now with no problems. They're very fast. So you had the right idea.

Transom and whole boat was rebuilt for the V8 by the best, Brian Carhart, it would maybe take 2 V8s.

Looks like a Vulture. Big difference Valero and Vulture. Vulture almost needs a V8 (3 liter Merc would be better). Nobody has a problem with helping someone if they listen to the expertise they were asking for help from. Of you're not going to listen to good advice why ask. He was told you're not getting a Valero to run with a V8 unless you have a LOT of money to spend on modding and lightening the V8 and setting it up properly. Which is pointless since the boat would run so much better with 2.5 or there are other boats that will run better with the V8. Yet he insisted. Basically said we were wrong. Just not worth it unless you have deep pockets and just want to do it. He indicated he didn't have the deep pockets but insisted he was going to make that thing run great with a rhino lined lower unit and told all of us we don't know what we're talking about. So where's this great running V8 Valero?

It's not the point of breaking a record, at 80 years old I would never try. Just having a OMC V8 on. I'll get some pics from our Hydrostream club of V8s on differant Streams. Thanks.
