When I rigged my Virage I used some cable bezels and put bellows inside them. I had to hog out the inside of the bezels with my die grinder to get the steering hose ends thru. After they were thru, I cut the bellows in half and slid over the hose ends. (VERY tight but with WD40 and two needle nose pliers I was able to pull over)
The bellows were from McMaster Carr. You can see them on the tailgate on the left side. (I used the larger ones)

Here they are test fit. I didn't like the bellows protruding this much so I just slid them in and only left one bellow and the collar exposed.

I got the mota started for the first time yesterday. Several problems tho.
First with a mechanical fuel pump as i was pumping the primmer bulb gas started squirting out of the front of the carbs at tbe bowl vents? The two small holes on top between the inlets.. . I know i adjusteed the floats 1/16" out of the bowls when i rebuilt em. And brand new needles and seats. And using a portable 6 gallon fuel tank the quick connect on the hose was sucking air at the connector. From bad o ring.

Took the carb off and adjusted the floats to EVEN with the bowl. And still was pushing past the seat and comming out of the air vent holes..

Ran the mota for a bit and on #4 carb i can actually see fire inside the crankcase! With the fiber reeds they show fire inside the crankcase... not sure if this is too good at all. Or maybee with the bad oring sucking air could that cause the floats to jump around and overfill? And sucking in that much more fuel cause the crankcase fire?

sometimes a tap with a wrench on the side of the carb helps the needle seat. It's sometimes as simple as that to stop fuel from squirting out the overflow.
Not sure what to tell you about flames in the case... Could be running lean, causing it to sneeze / backfire.

Floats checked out good. But bottom 2 carbs both had a tiny speck sticking in the seat.... problem solved with new inline fuel filter between the pump and carbs.

What size bezels and bellows did you use for your steering hoses?

I used the 3/4" cable bezels. Here is the McMaster Carr page I ordered the bellows from. https://www.mcmaster.com/#protective-bellows/=16y9tjr

Remember I cut them in half so one bellows will do two bezels. The steering hose ends were 3/4" swivel nuts BUT measuring from nut corner to corner was more like 7/8". The bellow "cuff" WILL stretch over this but it is so tight. I thought it was going to split. The neoprene was paper thin as it was going over the nut. Be sure to really lube it up.
Hind sight, I should have slid a pipe thread x hose barb in the end of the steering hose to act as a shoe horn to help the transition. I must have spent 15 minutes per hose to get that sucker on.

    The Bellows were:
5298K78 Flexible Molded Bellows, 5/16" Cuff ID, 1" Flange ID, 2-1/2" Extended LG.
