Is a Quartershot T3 an STV?

I'm looking at buying a late model Quartershot T3, and I'm wondering how, if at all the T3 is related to an STV?

They look so similar, are they related at all?

Fit and finish should be the same. I like the look of the STV better. Dixon drove one 151 mph.

Are you going to buy new? if not they are fairly hard to find.
