    Shame......

I made three attempts at this race , the first I was literally on my way out the door and essentially was told the same as here

Originally Posted by UAV.Pilot We did just that, built a boat to compete against the Nordic, before we even got to the race they wanted me to slow it down and have their professional driver to test drive it to ensure it was safe and didn't top out over 105, plus they wanted us to run an onboard GPS transmitting our speed back to the officials in case we went over 105 they could black flag us. All of this for a little outboard? Unless everyone else had to do the same thing we weren't about to subject ourselves to that kind of ridicule. You all can say what you want about it, but to me and others this was completely out of line and basically we took it as we were not welcome to participate in this event. We all said the same thing that we were not even close to Nordics speed not by a long shot, but were told they slowed the Nordic way down!

Dave Bush, Joe Abellera, his Dad, Scott Nolind, my self and others all put in a **** ton of hours, money, stress, planning for 10 months exe.. All for nothing, I spent close to 60k on a race boat to race and be safe doing it all for nothing really...Scott did the same...
the second the propshaft rules killed it

the third a spider put an end to that.

It would be awesome to see a race come to this side of the country so some of us with outboards and other smaller boats can race more than a 1/4 mile.

One of this year's issues was the race promoter of the last few years dropped the race a month before scheduled race. The prior promoter picked it up and went back to 2012 rules which did not have an unlimited outboard divission, I know it sucks we were going to run it as well but we're able to go back without much pain. I know several people were not able to do the same and I feel for them but had the race not been picked up by Ross 40 plus other boats would have sat home as well. Yes the restrictions sucks but needed to get insurance, it was rough enough to cause most everyone to slow down a bit.

    Yep.
It was too bad Dave dropped the ball on this one. He had a laundry list of reasons, non of which really matter at this point. It had appeared he was moving things in the right direction and making some pretty good changes at past races. Sounds like Ross did a good job with how short of a notice he had to get organized and keep the date. Curious as to where this race goes from here. Wish I could have made it out this year. Had been looking at being a support boat this year, but when it was originally canceled for that one or two days, I made other plans. Things fill up quick Halloween weekend. Saw you listed as co-driving, winning the division and second overall, but then read somewhere you didn't drive? What happened?

I was listed to drive but only if Greg was tired. I would have loved to drive but need to take care of my back first.
