This is what it did in aruba, and this is before it gained momentum. There is flooding and standing water all over the island.

The shutters are the only thing we didn't do when we built our house in '07. Historically no storm of any significance has hit the Daytona area from the beach side. The storms in '04/'05 were so beat up by the time they got here that no one I know had any significant damage. It's just not a high risk area but I'm sick over not buying shutters, it was probably the most bone headed thing I've ever done.

I know the house is over built and can withstand the winds but a piece of debris is all it takes to open up a window and breach the seal. It will be a sleepless night for sure. Praying for an eastward jog overnight.

been up since 3:30, managed to be blessed with 15 sheets of plywood, about 80% of the glass on the south is covered, going to try and complete the rest in the am. the storm surge is my concern, at high tide this afternoon were about 6' on the slab above it,,, they are saying it could be 9-11 ft, that's 3-5' in the house, my faith is in the Lord, am praying for protection. any prayers you may send our way would be appreciated. fun out
