I would think the Argo that ran in the mid 120s would be the fastest single. As far as twins I have heard of a few 28 skaters that have ran mid 120s in perfect conditions. The new doug wright 32s seem to be fast but I have only seen the articles about them running into the low 120s with 400r power.

I think Adam's Twister single is running in the upper 120s.

Maybe I missed it but any guesses what this 28 will run with a single 400R ? Wouldn't you want twin 300XS's ? Not bashing anything, just really curious.

Mike, yes you missed it. But the first two going out, single with four hundred, second with twin 300 XS motors. Then will be running a single Monty big eight and then twin Monty big eights. We will have some real numbers soon.

Jims 28 skater has been documented at 127 twin x motors, my old 24 skater with triple 260s ran 129 over a dozen times but never tipped past the 130 mark (20 years ago-with todays propellers?), adam has gone 126 with the dbr XS on the argo, and Dixon's stv is still the king at 151.

I know Marv Jorgenson's triple outboard eliminator was really fast as well but I don't know a true #.

The fastest recorded kilo 32 outboard is Lee's at 119 and change. I have not heard of anything faster then these for those categories but I have a feeling that Gordon is just about to change the books!!!

Don't forget Bill Schiltz - him and Marv had almost matching boats and Bill still has his. I see him time to time in MN - he's building a cabin on the chain of lakes where I run. I road in that beast and watched him bury a 120 MPH Nordskog speedometer. I was scared ****less but man that thing hit hard. 23 Eliminator with triple 2.4 Bridgeports (I think). I thought he was clocked at 130+ with a shot of spray but am probably wrong.

I remember watching them run the St. Croix river when I was really young. They were the two guys that got me into outboard cats.

The super stock class kilo with twin 280's is Lee Austin of LA Marine. He set it on the river at a Fountain hosted Apba/SBI event in 2004 or 05' @ 119.14 mph. The one way pass best was 122 mph. That was done in the old heavy 32. The new carbon boat weighs a lot less and initial testing says it's about 7mph faster.
