I'm looking forward to getting out in it, even if it means I have to be the guy getting in the water for prop changes/testing.
Those thru hub Dewalds work so well on that thing. I can't imagine that anything could be better. The over hubs are going to give it less transom lift without the barrels and less surface. I look forward to hearing the results at 6400 with the trim indicators at 27 to 31

Take a video like we should have...

So I guess there's no reason to even put the Herings back on it to try Joe? Doesn't hurt my feelings, you know I'm a fan of Dave's props. I will be surprised if the thru-hub 5 blades are as fast on top end as the over-hub 4 blades on a boat that light - but when it comes to props, you never know until you try them! Certainly the 5 blades will produce better cruise #s, but man those over-hub 4 blades were fast on my 28! I'll set-up my Contour camera to video the VesselView once we get the set of props it likes the best on it. We'll have cool weather for testing, and we're at sea-level on the Delta - which makes for good #s. My guess is that we'll see 125 with the two of us in it, with one of the two sets of Dewalds on it. That is of course if Dan wants to take it that far. He's told me on several occasions that he'll be completely happy with 120 - which I don't blame him!

He gave me an open invite to come out there. I told him that I would like to do it when it would line up with one of your race dates. You and I will take that thing out and twist it up to 125!!!

You're more than welcome to stay at my place as well Joe! Although this Summer at my place will suck without a Skater down at the dock. We can't make the first NJBA race of the year in March, as my main crew member can't make it - but we do plan to make the April 22/23 race. And for sure I would love to make a 125mph pass with you or Dan in his new 28, I have never doubted it will run that #....... and more!

--Give Grant a call and he can hook you up with any rigging parts that you need.

--I know that 120 is a matter of staying in it for 18 or 20 seconds from a 15 mph roll on. 125 and up might require something more but I know you will find out...Doug was on the phone with us and wanted to make sure we were running negative trim angle at speeds above 110 "its a big tunnel under there".

Is there anything besides negative trim above a hundred in an efficient cat?

It may work for people who do not panic. However I watched my sister almost drown on a knee board when she fell. She was upside down and was in a panic. 24 years old. All she had to do was release the velcro strap. We jumped in the water to save her. A few years ago a young girl drowned when her UTV went through the ice. She did not release the seat belt. I have been to APBA dunk testing and have witnessed adult men freak out upside down in a canopy in water. Divers would pull them out. I personally would rather get tossed floating and injured then drown.

A lot of the rigging parts that are in Dan's 28 came from CP - they are headquartered just about an hour from me, but they also have a location in Florida. They have a lot of good parts on their website, and they're one of the best distributors to deal with on either coast.

Well, yes and no. Dana went out of business, and CP continues to sell the same basic product line that Dana offered. But it wasn't an actual purchase of Dana's templates, tooling, etc - to my knowledge anyways. What we have in nice rigging components, we more than lack in good boat manufacturers. Unless you want a blinged-out DCB or Eliminator, you're heading East to get a REAL performance boat!
