Cool [Video] The 1968 Bahamas 500 Offshore Race

I've posted this several times before, but I thought to post it again in case anybody missed it.
This is the full movie about the 1968 Bahamas 500, with narration by Odel Lewis. A lot of amazing footage of race boats, Lake X and all that marine hardware we like to see.An extremely interesting historic film!

Jim tebo was driver of record. After he nosed in and took a hell of a shot in the face, we shared driving duties. It wasn't all that rough, but some of the wave patterns were setups for nosedives. - seeroy

I'm thinking, 1969 or 1970 is when APBA changed the number assignments.

I always wondered about that too.

Neither my dad, or John Bryan ever could tell me.

I think you picked a number, and if it wasn't taken it was yours. This was in the infancy of our racing and boats were few. Many times we would go to another area and someone would have the same number, so one of you would just take some tape and make a change. While I was racing APBA never assigned numbers.

101 through 909 were Kiekhafer outboard numbers assigned to Offshore BOATS. I ran 707 & 909 on different occasions. Of course there were other numbers run during the 1960's.

Does anyone know where you can find a list of all the boats/drivers that entered the race?
