A customer brought me a '98 20' Stratos basser w/a 200 looper for a freshening up.

Boat is getting new carpet (including all TEN hatches!) and buffed.

Motor is getting painted and new graphics. Later I am installing 225 hp carb's and 2.7 heads so I got him "225 HO" graphics.

Probably add a jack plate/set back too.
Customer took really good care of boat and makes it a fun project.

Looks good. I like shooting that color just built a pair of 300s for a guy that wanted them that color. Did full color change cowl to propshaft they look great. The only thing I dont like is the new 2015 decals were $690.00

And agreed. Most people are afraid to change color/graphics.
I told my customer that that cowling style went from '93 to '2000 so google it, find something you like and we'll make it work.

When I bought the new 250's for my first Sonic in '99, they were gun metal gray which I didn't like. I painted them white them striped them to match the graphics on the hull.
They looked great.

Xylene.
Similar to acetone. Not quite as strong but does not evaporate nearly as fast.
Pull up all you can then start soaking residual glue/carpet w/the xylene.
I use a paint brush to spread it then let soak.
I work ahead while it soaks then return w/a putty knife.

It pretty well sucks.
