Mikey cant be all that bad. He loves my Shrimp and Sausage Gumbo and WOOFS my Biscuits and Red Eye Gravy. And at the Plymouth Grand Nationals he didn't stop stuffing his yapper with my Dry Rubbed Smoked Ribs and Dry Rubbed Smoked Boston butt. Then Sunday we had Pulled Pork Sandwiches from the left over Butt. And He didn't turn his nose up pouring my homemade BBQ (Ketchup free) Sauce all over those buns . Now If I can just get him broke of his Okra Phobia there might be some hope for him.

But Bud wont be cooking this year. Bud will be racing. No time to cook.

Dammit, now i'm hungry. I gotta smoke up some bbq with buttonwood and fry some okra. I use a DRY rub and then homemade Carolina sauce with no catsup on mine...Fresh homemade buns and homemade sweet slaw on top made with cranberries and pineapple bits in it......And you can't forget the sweet tea.....Oh yeah, last but not least, some cherry crunch for desert with vanilla ice cream on top. Served warm.

Man you guys eat well. Hope to make it to an event up there sometime and meet all you guys and of course go to the local watering holes after eating. I am sure it would be worth the drive.

Lumberton North Carolina well known for their Ketchup based BBQ best in the state and family owned by true North Carolinians.

They dry rub the butts before they cook them In NC, the sauce is the vinegar based stuff for the most part. Hard to find the sweet or savory ketchup based sauces at restaurants here or SC either one. Texas is the sweet sauce state.

FAUX North Carolina BBQ!!! They must be Inbreed with Northerners or Mid Westerners or something.

I learned a couple just this past Sunday from MOOSE Land what REAL North Carolina BBQ is supposed to taste like.

    They now understand!!!
